Artist Rebecca Jones lives on Wurundjeri-Woi Wurrung Country in Naarm (Melbourne). She uses drawing to investigate concepts of translation and place. The Melbourne artist creates immersive environments that challenge conventional notions of two-dimensional drawing and disrupts the linear experience of time.
Rebecca Jones has completed her Masters of Contemporary Art at Melbourne University (VCA) and was awarded the Stuart Black Memorial Scholarship for excellence in drawing. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of South Australia and has attended drawing and painting marathons with The New York Studio School.
She has participated in artist residency programs with Falls Creek Alpine Resort and Yarra City Council and conducted workshops in digital technology and drawing practices. Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries in Melbourne and is held in both public and private collections.
